Where we are
The small walled medieval village of Moncabrier is situated in the Lot Valley. Surrounded by beautiful woodland and vineyards, the village is one of the few in the area to have its own boulangerie and grocers shop.

Every Friday night in July and August the village comes alive when the village stages a local farmers market that offers you the chance to rub shoulders with locals and tourists alike and sit down in the village square and share local delicacies including the famous Cabecou goats cheeses with honey and walnuts, freshly cooked duck breasts and sausages, and locally-farmed trout. None of this would be complete without a bottle or two of locally produced wine which, of course, is always irresistible!!
Montcabrier is in the heart of a tranquil rural area and is easily accessible from either Bergerac Airport (50 mins) or Toulouse Airport (1hr 45).

The accommodation
Our converted barn has three large bedrooms; the first with a king-sized bed, the second with a double bed and the third spacious attic area with two double beds - which can accommodate up to 8 people, including children.
There's a rustic farmhouse kitchen with range cooker, washing-machine, dishwasher and microwave - and a large family bath and shower room. The large granite floored sitting room has a big wood burning stove (just in case!) and English SKY television and digital radio.
Outside on the terrace you have unspoilt views across the valley and beyond. The 1/3 acre walled garden is on two levels with terraced dining area, stone summer house and a pretty tiled plunge pool - ideal for cooling off when the temperatures soar!

There are abundant fruit trees include cherry, fig, apple, plum, pear, peach, hazelnut and vines. The house is situated overlooking the village green at the end of the village opposite a tennis court which you are free to use at any time.

About the region
Montcabrier is just 45mins drive from the famous medieval town of Cahors - famous for the Pont Valentre bridge. There are some lovely old restaurants in the medieval quarter and July hosts the famous Cahors jazz festival, which last year featured artists including Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones.

Ten minutes drive from Montcabrier is the famous Chateau de Bonaguil, a medieval castle set high on a hill, which is a must when visiting this region. Also nearby is the old town of Puy l'Eveque which has a maze of cobbled streets to explore and a fantastic sound and light show in July. Of course walking is a very popular pastime here, with guided walks available if required.
We want you to enjoy our home and have a relaxing holiday away from all the stress. Whether you just want to enjoy the garden and views with a chilled glass of rose or head off sightseeing followed by a 5 course lunch, we are sure that, whatever you choose to do, you will leave Montcabrier with a feeling of contentment.
Pricing
With the Pound suffering against the Euro, we have adjusted our prices for 2011 to ensure you receive the best value for money.
This year we have introduced a flat-rate charge for the barn, regardless of how many people are staying. We believe this adds even more value to your holiday.
